Restaurant Branding & Luxury Menu Design Case Study Spain
Creating a refined Indian restaurant identity for the modern hospitality industry
Project Brief for Taj Palace
Taj Palace Since 1990 is an Indian restaurant in Las Palmas, Spain, offering authentic Indian cuisine through a dining experience built around heritage, hospitality and a refined royal character.
The client approached Abhishek Branding LLP to develop a restaurant identity that would feel elegant, clean and modern, while still retaining a clear connection with Indian culture and premium hospitality.
The brand also needed to communicate effectively to an international audience that includes British, Irish, Scandinavian and Spanish diners.
Rather than developing only a restaurant logo, the project evolved into a broader restaurant branding and hospitality design system covering identity development, menu direction and multiple guest-facing brand applications.
Creating a Royal Identity Without Overdesigning It The brand name naturally suggested palace architecture and royal Indian heritage. The challenge was to communicate that personality without relying on heavy decorative elements. Instead of adding more ornamentation, the focus was placed on proportion, typography, architectural forms and controlled visual details. |
Designing for an International Restaurant Audience The restaurant serves a multicultural audience in Spain. The identity therefore needed to feel unmistakably connected to Indian cuisine while remaining contemporary and accessible to international diners. |
Building More Than a Logo The logo also had to work across very different restaurant applications. From menus and stationery to signage, interiors, aprons and table branding, the identity needed to remain recognisable and consistent at every scale. The Brand Had to Work Across Menus • Signage • Interiors • Aprons • Coasters • Stationery |

Our Strategic Approach
At Abhishek Branding LLP, we approached Taj Palace as a complete
restaurant branding and hospitality experience, not simply as a logo or menu design project.
From the logo and menu to signage, interiors, staff applications and table branding, every element needed to feel connected, elegant and recognisable.
The identity was developed around the idea of authentic Indian cuisine with a refined royal character.
Instead of relying on excessive ornamentation, the logo exploration focused on simplified architectural cues inspired by palace arches, domes and Indian heritage. Multiple directions were explored to create a mark that could feel distinctive, elegant and practical across restaurant applications.
The menu was approached as more than a list of dishes and prices.
The creative direction was built around the idea of a Luxury Culinary Archive — combining refined typography, premium photography, dark textures, gold detailing and carefully structured information.
The objective was to create a menu that felt premium and collectible while remaining clear and comfortable to read.
Rather than using generic decorative images, each menu section was given its own visual character.
Cocktails, Sangria, wine, beer and champagne sections were planned with relevant imagery so customers could understand each category quickly while experiencing a consistent luxury visual language.
The Taj Palace identity was designed to extend beyond printed communication and become part of the physical restaurant environment.
Outdoor signage and interior branding were developed to reinforce the same royal yet contemporary identity customers encounter in the menu and other brand materials.
The identity was extended across smaller but important customer-facing applications including staff aprons, coasters, stationery and table branding.
These details help carry the brand experience throughout the restaurant. Maintaining the same typography, colour direction and visual character across these touchpoints helped create a more cohesive hospitality experience.
